Arkansans included in the $25 Billion National Mortgage Settlement.
In a settlement including 49 States, the Attorneys Generals have reached a settlement with five of the major mortgage lenders in the litigation stemming from robotic activities in the foreclosure process referred to as "robo-signing". Arkansas was one of the 49 States to settle in a case that has been identified as the second largest Federal Settlement since the Tobacco Settlement in 1998.
Foreclosure victims from January 1, 2007 who have lost their homes may qualify for a portion of the funds.
Others struggling to make their mortgage payments may find relief available through one of the relief options, including but not limited to principal reduction of their mortgage balance, relocation assistance and/or incentives to cooperate in other alternative disposition opportunities such as a short sale.
E-mail the Blackwood Team at arkansasreo@gmail.com to find out if you qualify for any portion of the $39 Million Dollars being distributed to Arkansans.
